His Version

We met in August 2002 at Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, but I first saw Nyasia years before, back in “The City”...New York City!

She had this presence that stopped time, and though I’d see her often, I never found the courage to say a word. Then fate did what it does best, it stepped in. I ended up at Lincoln University instead of Hampton University, and that one twist changed everything…Summer ’02, we officially met.

One movie night during freshman year, I finally spoke to her and just like that, my life shifted. That moment lit a spark that’s been burning ever since. 23 years later, here we are, still laughing, still learning, and still in love.

Every chapter of our story, from the streets of New York to the campus of Lincoln University has pulled us closer together.

Our love isn't luck. It's destiny. It's purpose. It's real.

Her Version

“Don’t you live in River Park Towers?” he asked. I hesitated, searching his face, trying to place this stranger who somehow seemed to know me. Picking up on my uncertainty, he smiled and added, “I’ve seen you around the block.”

And just like that, a simple exchange unraveled into something deeper. We had mutual friends, grew up down the block from each other, and even went to High School a single train stop apart. Our worlds had always been close, yet somehow, we had never truly met…until August 2004.

There was just something about him. That quiet confidence, the effortless New York swag, and how he always seemed to be wearing blue; my favorite color. I couldn’t explain it at the time, but something in me felt drawn to him. It didn’t feel like coincidence; it felt like God’s hand, gently guiding us together.

From that day forward, we were inseparable. As Kwame's best man said at our wedding, “When you saw one, you saw the other.” This is the kind of love that feels like home, grows with time, is unwavering and eternal.

This love is forever.
